REET has two stages that are often confused. REET Mains (the recruitment exam, run by RSSB, for 10,208 Level 1 + Level 2 vacancies) was held 17–20 January 2026, and its final result was declared on 12 June 2026 — that cycle is now complete. The next REET Pre notification (the actual TET-style eligibility exam most candidates search for) had not been released as of this writing; unofficial trackers expect it before September 2026, but this is not confirmed. Please check the official BSER/RSSB websites (linked below) for the current notification status before planning your preparation.

About REET
REET (Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers) is a state-level exam that works in two stages. REET Pre, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan (BSER), certifies your eligibility to teach — Level 1 for Classes 1–5 (Primary) and Level 2 for Classes 6–8 (Upper Primary). Clearing REET Pre doesn't hand you a job by itself — you then need to clear REET Mains (also called the Rajasthan 3rd Grade Teacher Exam), conducted separately by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), which actually ranks candidates and builds the merit list used for appointment.

Eligibility Criteria (REET Pre)
Standard qualification route for Level 1 and Level 2
- Level 1 (Classes 1–5): Senior Secondary (12th) with at least 50% marks, plus a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (or equivalent NCTE-recognised qualification).
- Level 2 (Classes 6–8): Graduation with at least 50% marks, plus a B.Ed (or an equivalent NCTE-recognised teacher training qualification).
- Candidates can apply for Level 1, Level 2, or both — appearing for both makes you eligible for Classes 1–8.
- Age limits and reserved-category relaxations follow Rajasthan government norms — check the current notification for exact figures.
Exam Pattern
Format for REET Pre, both levels
- Offline, OMR-based, objective-type (MCQ) exam — 150 questions per level.
- Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes per paper.
- Important recent change: BSER added a 5th answer option — "None of the Above" (NOTA) — alongside the usual four. There is no negative marking for choosing a wrong answer. But if you leave a question completely blank (don't even mark NOTA), 1/3 mark is deducted. Always mark an option for every question.
- Level 1 has 5 sections of 30 marks each; Level 2 has 3 sections of 30 marks plus one 60-mark subject-specialisation section (Maths & Science, or Social Studies).

Application Fee (Past Cycle Reference)

In recent cycles, the REET Pre application fee was approximately ₹550 for a single level (Level 1 or Level 2) and ₹750 for both levels together. Treat these as reference figures only — confirm the exact fee in the current official notification before paying.
