Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the CTET September 2026 Notification on May 11, 2026, on its official website. The online application process for the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) has started from today, and eligible candidates can now submit their application forms online at ctet.nic.in.
As per the official notification, the last date to apply online for CTET September 2026 is June 10, 2026. The CTET 2026 examination will be conducted on September 06, 2026, across 132 cities in India in 27 languages.
The CTET examination is conducted for candidates aspiring to become teachers for Classes 1 to 8 in central government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVS), Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVS), and other CBSE-affiliated schools.

CTET Eligibility Criteria
The CTET examination is conducted in two papers:
- Paper 1: For candidates who wish to teach Classes 1 to 5
- Paper 2: For candidates who wish to teach Classes 6 to 8
Candidates applying for CTET must fulfil the prescribed educational qualifications.
CTET Paper 1 Eligibility (Primary Stage)
Candidates should have:
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in D.El.Ed/B.El.Ed
OR - Graduation with B.Ed/D.El.Ed qualification
CTET Paper 2 Eligibility (Upper Primary Stage)
Candidates should have:
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in B.Ed/D.El.Ed
