Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria differ for Primary and Upper Primary teacher levels.

Primary Teacher (Class 1 to 5)

Candidates must possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university
  • Teacher training qualification such as BTC, B.El.Ed, or equivalent
  • Minimum 50% marks in graduation or training programme (as applicable)
  • Final-year candidates are also eligible

Upper Primary Teacher (Class 6 to 8)

Candidates must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks (45% relaxation in some categories as per rules)
  • B.Ed, BTC, B.El.Ed, or equivalent qualification
  • Final-year candidates are eligible
  • Candidates with Special Education qualifications from RCI-recognised institutes can also apply

Additionally, candidates with a 4-year integrated teaching programme may also be eligible under specific conditions.
